Need a Half Size? Simply Size Up.
Z-CoiL doesn’t make half sizes, but every pair includes a 3mm insert to fine-tune the fit. Just order the next whole size up (e.g., if you wear 8.5, order 9) and use the insert for a snug, perfect fit.
Z-CoiL Footwear generally runs true to size. Please order the size you normally wear. If you wear a half size, we recommend ordering the next size up.

Adjusting for Half Sizes
Follow the instructions below to adjust the half sizes. Z-CoiL does not manufacture half sizes. However, every pair includes a 3mm insert to adjust the fit. If you are between sizes, follow these steps:
1. Remove the Insole: Take out the Z-CoiL insole from the shoe.
2. Insert the 3mm Half-Size Insert: Place the insert inside the shoe where the insole was.
3. Reinsert the Insole: Put the insole back on top of the insert.
This adjustment helps achieve the perfect fit for half sizes.
Spring Strength Guide
Z-CoiL shoes come with four different spring strengths, predetermined by shoe size. While most customers find the factory settings ideal, some may need adjustments based on their weight or walking/running style.
Spring Strength Recommendations:
- Small Spring: Women's sizes 5-7 (up to 150 lbs)
- Medium Spring: Women's sizes 8-11, Men's sizes 8-9 (120-200 lbs)
- Large Spring: Men's sizes 10-13 (160-240 lbs)
- XL Spring: Men's size 14+ (220 lbs+)
Tip: Aim to compress the spring about 75% during normal walking. If you "bottom out" (fully compress the spring), consider a stronger spring. If the shoe feels too stiff, you may prefer a softer coil.
Requesting a Stiffer Coil: If you prefer a softer or stiffer coil, please add a note to your order at checkout. We will gladly exchange the coil to suit your needs better.
Width Options
All Z-CoiL shoes are designed with a wider toe box to reduce irritation in the toes and ball of the foot.
Width Descriptions:
- D Width (Wide): Available in the Freedom, Legend (all), Olivia, Sofia, Toffler, and styles.
- E Width (Extra Wide): Available in the Outback, Prime, and Sidewinder styles.
Choose the width that provides the most comfort and accommodates your foot shape.

Finally took the plunge, why did I wait so long.
Wow! Incredible from the moment my foot slipped into them. I ordered a 9. They were a little big. I hated to take them off to get them returned for the correct size 8. Jennifer at Z-Coil was so helpful. I called her the day I got them off in the mail she saw the tracking # and my new pair was in the mail and I was wearing the correct size in less than 3 days. Great shock absorption that allows my limited ankle mobility and mid foot arthritis to accommodate to the ground The “coil” gives energy back to me as I walk forward. It allows me to stand taller, take bigger stride lengths with a lot less pain. PS I now have a second style, the work shoe.
NICE WORK SHOES
I have plantar fasciitis and have to use special prescription insoles. my insoles fit perfectly into these use. During my 14 day trial period I made sure i went for 2 mile walks in these. I was so impressed i wasn't about to send them back. I wear them to work everyday now. Love them!!
Comfortable
I tried these and certainly they are comfortable but not quite my style. I then ordered a pair of the sneakers and am completely in love with them because of offering the same comfort, but with an added sporty look. I can’t say enough about how wonderful Z-Coil footwear is. It’s in a whole different league when it comes to comfort.
