Need a Half Size? Simply Size Up.
Z-CoiL doesn’t make half sizes, but every pair includes a 3mm insert to fine-tune the fit. Just order the next whole size up (e.g., if you wear 8.5, order 9) and use the insert for a snug, perfect fit.
Z-CoiL Footwear generally runs true to size. Please order the size you normally wear. If you wear a half size, we recommend ordering the next size up.

Adjusting for Half Sizes
Follow the instructions below to adjust the half sizes. Z-CoiL does not manufacture half sizes. However, every pair includes a 3mm insert to adjust the fit. If you are between sizes, follow these steps:
1. Remove the Insole: Take out the Z-CoiL insole from the shoe.
2. Insert the 3mm Half-Size Insert: Place the insert inside the shoe where the insole was.
3. Reinsert the Insole: Put the insole back on top of the insert.
This adjustment helps achieve the perfect fit for half sizes.
Spring Strength Guide
Z-CoiL shoes come with four different spring strengths, predetermined by shoe size. While most customers find the factory settings ideal, some may need adjustments based on their weight or walking/running style.
Spring Strength Recommendations:
- Small Spring: Women's sizes 5-7 (up to 150 lbs)
- Medium Spring: Women's sizes 8-11, Men's sizes 8-9 (120-200 lbs)
- Large Spring: Men's sizes 10-13 (160-240 lbs)
- XL Spring: Men's size 14+ (220 lbs+)
Tip: Aim to compress the spring about 75% during normal walking. If you "bottom out" (fully compress the spring), consider a stronger spring. If the shoe feels too stiff, you may prefer a softer coil.
Requesting a Stiffer Coil: If you prefer a softer or stiffer coil, please add a note to your order at checkout. We will gladly exchange the coil to suit your needs better.

All Z-CoiL shoes are designed with a wider toe box to reduce irritation in the toes and ball of the foot.

- D Width (Wide): Available in the Freedom, Legend (all), Olivia, Sofia, Toffler, and styles.
- E Width (Extra Wide): Available in the Outback, Prime, and Sidewinder styles.
Choose the width that provides the most comfort and accommodates your foot shape.

Size may be inaccurate, but...
"Fits True to Size: Order your usual size; for half sizes, go up to the next whole size. A 3mm foam insert is included for a perfect fit."... This is incorrect. I wear 9.5 shoes, so I ordered 10s as this specific instruction indicates. I used their included inserts, but I was still swimming in them. I ended up placing "Dr. Scholl's Plantar Fasciitis" insoles to take up most of that gap. Now they "fit like a glove". So far, so good. I have way less pain at the end of a workday standing and walking all day long. No more tears at quitting time now! Thank you for creating such spectacular footwear.... if only the heel height could be reduced so I don't look like Frankenstein's Monster, or like a member of the band KISS!
Prime workboot
These are the best work boots!! I truly believe if I hadn’t been wearing z-coils for the last 20 years, I would have to had a knee replacement. I have honestly lost count of how many z- coils shoes I have bought. I am so thankful for z-coils. I started with the legends but I now prefer the Prime workboot. I work on concrete floors- 10 hour days - in no pain.

Great experience with Zcoil , Called them up . And spoke to a representative. And they were nice, knowledgeable, and knew just what I needed . I am a Disabled Veteran . And would recommend Zcoil to anyone out there that are having foot pain.
Best boots ever!!!
I love my boots! They are a life savor! I had these boots 1 year and when I tell you I feel 25 again! I work on the railroad walking on big rocks for miles 12hr shift and I can still leave work and walk. My back don't hurt anymore! I took pills for years until last year. No more pain meds! The coil is odd at first but now I wear everyday on and off work! I even wear with other outfits. I ordered a 9 I had to send them back for an 8 women. No more pain for me! I am a forever zcoil girl!!!!!!
This show is a miracle in my life
I have a Ankle fusion in my left feet and its complicated in many ways ! After going through many surgeries for 4 years I recovered with pain and started walking In my own feet! Recently I was traveling around USA and came across these magical shoes , after I tried these shoes , I immediately knew that this is the solution to my problem! My efficiency of walking has increased drastically and I can walk much better now ! It's been few days and I now knew this is the pair of shoes I will wear throughout my life!
