Z-CoiL Footwear is a family-owned pain relief footwear company headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We've been designing and building shoes around our patented coil spring heel since 1995. Our parent company is Z Tech Inc.
Who we are
Z-CoiL was founded by Alvaro Z. Gallegos, who invented the first spring-loaded orthopedic shoe. Today the company is still owned and run by the Gallegos family, now in its third generation, right here in Albuquerque.
What we make
Our shoes use a steel coil spring and orthotic built into the heel to reduce impact on your feet, knees, and back with every step. We make enclosed shoes, sandals, work boots, and a growing sneaker line for people who spend all day on their feet: nurses, teachers, retail and warehouse workers, and anyone living with foot or back pain. We've sold more than a million pairs worldwide.
Recent milestones
Z-CoiL appeared on Shark Tank Season 17, where we made a deal with Lori Greiner.
